Stroll through the woods

Marlay Park is a fantastic place to bring the family. We often meet our friends here with their children as every age is catered for. Would you believe we did this walk on Christmas Eve? What a day! There are a number of options regarding walks but we usually follow the outer loop. Depending on the little ones cycling/scooting this takes anywhere from 45 mins – 1 hour.

Features include:

  • Free Parking
    • Grange Road (Main entrance)
    • College Road (Golf Club entrance)
  • Coffee Shop
  • Walled Gardens
  • Courtyard
  • Outdoor gym equipment
  • Outdoor tennis courts
  • Forest trail
  • Dog Park
  • Golf Course (Par 3)

There is a lovely forest trail here where the older children can go exploring while the wheelies can stick to the path. Watch out for the magical Fairy Tree on this trail. The fairies love to collect soothers from anyone trying to give them up!

The first playground is ideal for toddlers and young children while the second one is equipped for the older ones. The coffee shop is our treat once we’ve completed a nice long walk. While they serve lovely food and beverages, the seating area inside is small and can get quite loud. There is ample seating outdoors but weather permitting of course. Keep an eye out also for the resident peacock.

A wheely fantastic park to explore!
