Here’s looking at you kid
We were very pleasantly surprised at how much there was to see and do at the Irish National Stud and Gardens. Initially we thought the entry fee was priced quite high, however after an afternoon of exploration we realised that it was a great place to visit and ideal for buggies and children. It was wonderful to be so close to the horses and see them in all their glory.
Needless to say the Japanese Gardens are breathtaking. Such a serene place to visit. Only a small portion of the garden is accessible but if you can tag-team it’s definitely worth taking the time to explore the more intricate areas and appreciate all that this garden has to offer.
Be sure to check out the website to see if there are any events taking place at the time of your visit. Until the 31st of August there is a very dotey fairy trail, face painting and horse riding available. Bring some bread for the ducks too if you’ve any left over from your picnic. A few tables are available at the car park but there’s also a café on site should you choose to dine there.
Happy horsing around xxx
